How Freelance Radar collects, uses and protects personal information, and how you can exercise your rights. This policy covers visitors and subscribers of the service as well as the people (recruiters) whose post is listed.
Freelance Radar is operated by a company established in France: our processing is governed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”), which applies to all users. For people in Canada, we also follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for people in Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as amended by Law 25. Section 7 explains your rights under Canadian law.
The organization responsible for your personal information is FLIPPER, a SAS registered with the Nanterre Trade and Companies Register (RCS) under number 945 084 903, France, publisher of the “Freelance Radar” service.
The person in charge of the protection of personal information is Paul Butet, publication director of Freelance Radar. Contact for any question about personal information or to exercise your rights: contact@freelanceradar.co.
Freelance Radar detects and aggregates contract job posts published publicly on professional platforms and networks, in English and in French. For this purpose we collect: the name of the author of the post, the link to their profile and to the original post, the content of the post and the information extracted from it (job title, company, requirement, location, hourly rate, contract type).
Purpose: to run an aggregator that helps contractors find contract jobs.
Legal basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): making professional B2B introductions easier, based on information that the people concerned have themselves made public in a strictly professional context, for the purpose for which it was published. No sensitive information is collected.
The email and phone number search was removed from the interface on September 24, 2026. The information below describes the data previously obtained through this feature; the retention periods and the rights of the people concerned still apply.
Are you a recruiter listed in our service?
At any time, and without giving a reason, you can ask to be removed and for your information to no longer be displayed: write to contact@freelanceradar.co with the link to your profile or your post. You will then be added to a suppression list and your information will no longer be processed (see sections 6 and 7).
Creating an account and logging in are done with a magic link or a one time code sent by email. We process your email address, your account status (free or subscriber), your subscription date and subscription history, as well as your saved searches and favourite contract jobs.
Purpose: to provide the service and manage your account and subscription.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Payments are handled by a secure payment provider. Freelance Radar does not store any card details: they are entered directly with that provider. We keep the customer ID from the payment provider, the payment history and the invoices (amounts, dates, status).
Purpose: to process subscriptions and meet our accounting and tax obligations.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) for keeping invoices.
When a user creates an alert, we collect their email address and the keywords or filters they follow.
Purpose: to send new matching contract jobs by email.
Legal basis: express consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, and express consent within the meaning of Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, CASL), obtained through double opt in (confirmation by email). Every email identifies Freelance Radar and includes an unsubscribe link; you can withdraw your consent at any time and the request is processed promptly.

Your personal information is stored and processed outside Canada, mainly in the European Union (main database) and, for some providers, in the United States or other countries. It may therefore be accessible to the courts and authorities of those countries under their laws. These transfers are covered by contractual safeguards (standard contractual clauses and/or participation in the Data Privacy Framework, depending on the provider). For people in Quebec, we assess the protection offered before information is communicated outside Quebec, as required by law.

If you are in Quebec, you also have the right to receive computerized personal information you provided to us in a structured, commonly used technological format, and to ask that a link giving access to your information be de-indexed when its dissemination contravenes the law.
To exercise a right, write to contact@freelanceradar.co. We may need to verify your identity. We reply within 30 days. The website uses your browser’s local storage for strictly functional purposes (remembering your alerts and your session). No advertising tracking cookies are used by this storage.
Access to the database is restricted: the public interface only exposes what is strictly necessary; the contact details search is no longer offered in the interface. Sensitive access keys are never exposed in the browser. In the event of a confidentiality incident that presents a risk of serious harm, we notify the people concerned and the competent authorities as required by law.
