How Freelance Radar collects, uses and protects personal information, and how you can exercise your rights. This policy covers visitors and subscribers of the service as well as the people (recruiters) whose post is listed.
Freelance Radar is operated by a company established in France: our processing is governed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”), which applies to all users, including users in Australia. We also handle the personal information of people in Australia in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Section 7 sets out what this means for you.
The data controller is FLIPPER, a SAS registered with the Nanterre Trade and Companies Register (RCS) under number 945 084 903, publisher of the “Freelance Radar” service.
Contact for any question about personal information or to exercise your rights: contact@freelanceradar.co.
Freelance Radar detects and aggregates contract role posts published publicly on professional platforms and networks. For this purpose we collect: the name of the author of the post, the link to their profile and to the original post, the content of the post and the information extracted from it (job title, organisation, requirement, location, day rate).
Purpose: to run an aggregator that helps contractors find contract roles.
Legal basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): making professional B2B introductions easier, based on data that the people concerned have themselves made public in a strictly professional context. No sensitive information is collected.
The email and phone number search was removed from the interface on 24 September 2026. The information below describes the data previously obtained through this feature; the retention periods and the rights of the people concerned still apply.
Are you a recruiter listed in our service?
At any time, and without giving a reason, you can ask to be removed and for your contact details to no longer be displayed: write to contact@freelanceradar.co with the link to your profile or your post. You will then be added to a suppression list and your data will no longer be processed (see section 6).
Creating an account and logging in are done with a magic link or a one time code sent by email. We process your email address, your account status (free or subscriber), your subscription date and subscription history, as well as your saved searches and favourite contract roles.
Purpose: to provide the service and manage your account and subscription.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Payments are handled by a secure payment provider. Freelance Radar does not store any bank details: card details are entered directly with that provider. We keep the customer ID from the payment provider, the payment history and the invoices (amounts, dates, status).
Purpose: to process subscriptions and meet our accounting and tax obligations.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) for keeping invoices.
When a user creates an alert, we collect their email address and the keywords or filters they follow.
Purpose: to send new matching contract roles by email.
Legal basis: consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), obtained through double opt in (confirmation by email). In line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), every alert email identifies Freelance Radar as the sender and contains a working unsubscribe link; unsubscribe requests take effect straight away, and in any case within 5 working days.
