Privacy policy

How Freelance Radar collects, uses and protects personal information, and how you can exercise your rights. This policy covers visitors and subscribers of the service as well as the people (recruiters) whose post is listed.

Freelance Radar is operated by a company established in France: our processing is governed by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”), which applies to all users, including users in Singapore. We also handle the personal data of people in Singapore in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). Section 7 sets out what this means for you.

1. Data controller

The data controller is FLIPPER, a SAS registered with the Nanterre Trade and Companies Register (RCS) under number 945 084 903, publisher of the “Freelance Radar” service.
Contact for any question about personal information or to exercise your rights: contact@freelanceradar.co.

2. Categories of data, purposes and legal bases

A. Data from public professional posts

Freelance Radar detects and aggregates contract role posts published publicly on professional platforms and networks. For this purpose we collect: the name of the author of the post, the link to their profile and to the original post, the content of the post and the information extracted from it (job title, organisation, requirement, location, rate).

Purpose: to run an aggregator that helps contractors find contract roles.
Legal basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): making professional B2B introductions easier, based on data that the people concerned have themselves made public in a strictly professional context. No sensitive information is collected.

B. Data from the former contact details search

The email and phone number search was removed from the interface on 24 September 2026. The information below describes the data previously obtained through this feature; the retention periods and the rights of the people concerned still apply.

Are you a recruiter listed in our service?

At any time, and without giving a reason, you can ask to be removed and for your contact details to no longer be displayed: write to contact@freelanceradar.co with the link to your profile or your post. You will then be added to a suppression list and your data will no longer be processed (see section 6).

C. Account data (users and subscribers)

Creating an account and logging in are done with a magic link or a one time code sent by email. We process your email address, your account status (free or subscriber), your subscription date and subscription history, as well as your saved searches and favourite contract roles.

Purpose: to provide the service and manage your account and subscription.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

D. Payment and billing data

Payments are handled by a secure payment provider. Freelance Radar does not store any bank details: card details are entered directly with that provider. We keep the customer ID from the payment provider, the payment history and the invoices (amounts, dates, status).

Purpose: to process subscriptions and meet our accounting and tax obligations.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)) for keeping invoices.

E. Email alert data

When a user creates an alert, we collect their email address and the keywords or filters they follow.

Purpose: to send new matching contract roles by email.
Legal basis: consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), obtained through double opt in (confirmation by email). In line with the Spam Control Act 2007, every alert email identifies Freelance Radar as the sender and contains a working unsubscribe link; unsubscribe requests take effect straight away, and in any case within 10 business days.

Your personal data is not held in Singapore. The main database is hosted in the European Union, and some providers are based outside the European Union. 7. People in Singapore (Personal Data Protection Act 2012)

If you are in Singapore, you can ask to access the personal data we hold about you and how it has been used or disclosed in the past year, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent to the processing based on consent (such as email alerts) at any time. We do not sell your personal data.

To make a request or a complaint about how we handle your personal data, write to contact@freelanceradar.co, which also reaches the person responsible for data protection at Freelance Radar. We will acknowledge it and aim to answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) (www.pdpc.gov.sg).

The website uses your browser’s local storage for strictly functional purposes (remembering your alerts and your session). No audience measurement or advertising tracking cookies are used; no consent is required for this.

9. Security

Access to the database is restricted: the public interface only exposes what is strictly necessary; the contact details search is no longer offered in the interface. Sensitive access keys are never exposed in the browser.
